Feature Films and Life in a Certain Small Town
Monday, October 10, 2011
Last night we were treated to a private screening of October Baby, a new feature film that will begin an initial limited theatrical release on October 28th. The film’s tag line is “Every Life is Beautiful”, reference to its storyline about an attempted abortion survivor.

Today, I visited briefly with a friendly young lady at a popular Franklin sidewalk cafe.

We bumped into each other several minutes later at Starbucks, where we talked a few moments longer. She then introduced herself as Gianna Jessen.

October Baby is inspired by Gianna’s story, and the movie soundtrack includes Gianna singing an evocative melody as the film draws to a close. Randomly meeting her on the streets of Franklin after seeing her movie the night before is a sort of quintessential picture of life in this quiet, creative village.
Congratulations to The Erwin Brothers, Producers Dan Atchison and Justin Tolley, and composer Paul Mills (who wrote the score for our Unplanned film about Abby Johnson, who left her role as a Planned Parenthood clinic director and is now a leading advocate for life) on telling an engaging, compelling story. Watch a trailer for the film at octoberbabymovie.net.
The film features a tremendous performance by first-time feature actress Rachel Hendrix (below), who takes a big step in raising the bar of acting talent in faith-based films. We encourage you to see October Baby.

The Staging Area

The quiet road on which we run in Leipers Fork is usually most notable for how few cars we encounter on a typical several mile run. But with Nicole Kidman’s new movie in town, that all changed the other day…

Honor Begins at Home
Tuesday, September 6, 2011

Courageous opens later this month. We encourage you to be there opening night - Friday, September 30th.
We pray that fathers throughout the world are encouraged by this powerful film. We saw an early screening of Courageous, and believe that it has the potential to ignite fathers to action. Honor Begins At Home is the film’s subtitle, and for those fathers who embrace that truth, we hope they’ll also take a look at Gather the Family, our film about family worship. It’s a simple step for fathers (and families) to take, one that will hopefully help them along their path of building honor at home.
