One of the pleasures of working on Family Works, Volume 2, hosted by Wade Myers,  was the opportunity to work with Dave Rasmussen, who we came to know a few years back at the Christian Film Academy.  Dave is a first-rate adventure videographer who lives in Montana. When we learned that we would be shooting the inspiring Bryce DeGroot story in Bozeman, we were eager to work with Dave for the first time.

As the afternoon of Day One wore on, we were able to get a stereotypical Montana shot…

An Easy Stop

All outings with children should be this easy. 

A recent Franklin Springs repair stop at The Apple Store turned into a somewhat extended excursion.  Having children along for the ride proved to be no problem whatsoever.

Their parents marveled at the children’s adeptness with the Apple product line.  From phones to desktops, they moved effortlessly through the store, finding great enjoyment at every stop.

The parents were happy to see the future filmmakers’ growing proclivity for the technological realm. 

And upon their return home, the children were promptly sent out to climb a tree…

Bread at Eight

Here’s a note from the inbox about an enterprising eight year old:

“After my girls had watched the Homestead Blessings breadmaking film, much to my surprise, I found my eight year old daughter in the kitchen making bread for the first time. The bread was delicious and she was extremely pleased that she did it herself. All from watching the West ladies! Thank you Franklin Springs for a fantastic DVD series!”

Labor Day Morning

The streets of downtown Franklin were closed off this morning for the 32nd annual Franklin Classic 5K and 10K runs to benefit Mercy Children’s Clinic.

Thousands of runners congregated around the Franklin Town Square in preparation for logging 3.1 or 6.2 miles…

Last year, they competed in the 5K, but this year, two Franklin Springs production assistants (along with their dad) labored through the 10K…

Rumor has it they’ve already got their sights set on the next rung on the ladder.  13.1, here they come…
